Sony DADC delivers Vienna New Year’s Concert 2012 to fans as CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disc and digital download
Right after the concert on January 1st the discs for the crucial German speaking market have been authored, mastered and manufactured by Sony DADC at its Salzburg facilities, before they are now released by Sony Classical. The digital edition of the concert has already been delivered to online retailers all over the globe through Sony’s sophisticated digital distribution infrastructure, which is managed by the Sony DADC team.
The New Year's Concert is broadcasted from the Vienna Musikverein to over 70 countries and reaches more than 40 million television viewers. The resulting recordings with works from the Strauss dynasty and their contemporaries are among the classical market's most important releases and are rightly considered timepieces.
The traditional Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert on January 1, 2012, has been conducted for the second time by the Latvian conductor Mariss Jansons, Principal Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio and the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam.
